چکیده مقاله:

Preparation of highly porous materials as sorbents of different water pollutants has attracted much attention. One of these materials exhibited superb performance in adsorption is layered double hydroxides (LDH). Due to high surface area, simple and easy preparation methods, controllable structure and composition and low cost, LDHs are promising sorbents for removing various types of contaminants from aqueous solutions. Herein, two approaches including hydrothermal and urea hydrolysis were used to fabricate carbonate and nitrate intercalated Ni/Al LDHs with Ni2+/Al3+ molar ratio of 2. Structures of the prepared samples were studied using XRD and SEM analyses. The batch mode adsorptive performance of these two samples towards Congo red (CR) removal was investigated as well. Result showed that nano-structured Ni/Al LDH-C which was prepared via hydrothermal method had a better crystallinity and structure resulting much higher adsorption capacity.
