Cavity Backed Slot Antenna Based on Groove Gap Waveguide Technology

planar cavity backed slot antenna using groove gap waveguide (GGW) technology is presented.The radiating element is a slot which is backed by a GGW cavity. A probe is used to feed the existing mode inside the cavity. The cavity performance is investigated numerically and it is observed that it is well performing at the desired frequency. A sample antenna is designed and simulated using HFSS software. Results show that the presented cavity backed antenna has proper radiation performance
