Array antennas synthesis is one of the most important problems in the optimization of antenna and electromagnetics. This paper uses a metaheuristic algorithm innovated recently and named as teaching-learning based optimization (TLBO) for the synthesis of linear array antenna with a desired side lobe level and imposing deeper nulls in special directions. This algorithm through creating an efficient position assists the array elements in order to achieve the above-mentioned purposes. Two different examples of antenna have been presented in this paper. The results of the simulation for validation are compared with PSO algorithm. Numerical results represent the strength and the effectiveness of the TLBO algorithm in such antenna problems
