چکیده مقاله:

Wellbore instability is an important issue in geo-mechanical aspect of petroleum industry. In this study, Finite Element method with ABAQUS program has been performed for analyzing the effect of differential stress and pore pressure changes during drilling procedure on instability of vertical and horizontal boreholes. As a matter of fact, in this analysis a horizontal and vertical wells with regular rock mechanical and reservoir fluid properties have been modeled in reservoir condition for conducting realistic simulation and getting precise results based on fully coupled geomechanical model of borehole stability. Consequently, all the results in case of the influence of differential stress and pore pressure changes on instability from vertical and horizontal bores will be compared and analyzed.
