چکیده مقاله:

Electrocorticography (ECoG) is a technique for direct recording from the brain cortex. In this procedure subdural electrodes are implanted on the cortical surface using a craniotomy to record the cortical activity for a limited time. This procedure is used to localize the focus of seizure in the intractable epileptic patients. Advances in the recording and analysis of the ECoG signals open a new window for researches on the grounds of neurolinguistics, brain-computer interface, functional mapping, and seizure. The milliseconds precision time scale and millimeters precision spatial scale make it the best technique for functional mapping of the human brain. We recorded intracranial EEG signals from the implanted electrodes while the subject was viewing different image categories or answering to a simple question. Then, we analyzed the data to understand how the brain processed the information. Finally, we presented the brain map in response to different image categories.
