چکیده مقاله:
Achieving economic development is the main purpose of every country so that it always attracts the attention of economic planners. Finding factors affecting on it is necessary in order to get a better understanding of this issue. Although capital is the essential element for economic growth, developing countries are usually faced shortage of capital; then, they find foreign loans as the solution though its repayment will create another problem. Hence, foreign direct investment seems the proper way through that not only the foreign debt problem can be removed but also economic development will be achieved. Using the GMM model the present paper aims to investigate the effect of foreign direct investment on economic development of some Asian countries including: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, Egypt, Georgia, India, Indonesia, and Iran from 2000-2013. Findings showed a significant relation between foreign investment attraction and economic development.
