چکیده مقاله:

In recent years, the improvement of soils has been noted because of loose subsoil of dams and large structures, and the increase in construction and limitation of appropriate lands. In situ soils are not often suitable for construction, especially large dams and structures; therefore, some changes are required to improve soil. In civil engineering, construction of dams and other structures on loose soils is very hazardous, because the soil is susceptible to differential settlement due to its low shear strength and high compressibility. In addition, the stability and increased shear strength of soils used in the structure of the earth s dam are also important. Therefore, it is necessary to improve soil strength properties such as bearing capacity and shear strength (c, ø). In this paper, the parameters of the polymeric FRP fibers reinforced soil are investigated. The main purpose of soil improvement is to study the role of the reinforcing fibers on shear behavior of soil. In this regard, FRP fibers are mixed with a determined weight percentage and size, then a triaxial test is done with optimum moisture content. The experimental results show that, the internal friction angle of the soil increases.
