Electrathermal properties of epoxy/graghene nanocomposites as deicer coatings

Conductive nanocomposites of epoxy/graphene nanosheets (GNS) using various GNS contents were prepared via solution method. Electrical measurements showed a sudden increase in conductivity through addition of 2 wt% GNS due to formation of percolative networks of nanosheets which was proved by morphological observations. Electrothermal analysis verifying increment of surface temperature due to Joule heating generated by the voltage across the nanocomposites and shows tremendous potential as coating for deicing purposes in different fields.
