Updates in Nonsurgical Treatment Cuff Pathologies

Conservative treatment is often offered as an early management approach forpatients with rotator cuff tears. The main objectives of non-operative managementof a rotator cuff tear are to decrease pain, increase function and improve activities ofdaily living. While nonsurgical treatment programs and patient education may be aviable initial option and alternative to surgery for many patients, tear size progressionand structural deterioration over time may occur, predisposing these patients tosymptom recurrence and functional decrease. This highlights the importance ofongoing monitoring and surveillance.
