A Novel Approach to the Decline Curve Analysis

The paper presents a novel approach to the decline curve analysis. In this method, using relation between decline curve variables, a unique linear relation is obtained. By using this relation, the decline curve coefficients are found even for the hyperbolic decline curves. In presented method, finding these coefficients has been simplified. This linear relation has obtained from basic definition of decline curve parameters. The accuracy of proposed method is equal or superior to conventional methods. A field example is presented in the paper.
