Fars Province) Study on fauna of Cheyletid mites (Acari:Trombidiformes) in Ramjerd region)

Cheyletid mites are slow moving, some of which are ectoparasites of birds, mammals or insects.Moreoften they are free living predators on other mites, first instar armoured scale insects or feed on pest mites instored foods . During 2009-2010, the funa of cheyletid mites in Ramjerd region waz studided. The mites wereextracted by Berlese funnel and cleared in Lactophenol, then were mounted in Hoyer,s medium onmicroscopic slides.Totally, 10 species belongin to six genera were collected and identified. Among identifiedspecimens, one species is new record for Iran and 3 species are new records for Fars Province, have beenmarked by (*) and (**) respectively .
