First record of the genus Nothrotrombidium (Acari: Trombellidae), ectoparasite of short horned grasshoppers of the family Acrididae from Iran

During a study on fauna of the prostigmatic mite associated with insects in some regions of northeasternIran, one species of the genus Nothrotrombidium belonging to the family Trombellidae of the cohortParasitengonina collected from a short-horned grasshopper of the family Acrididae which its genus record isnew to fauna of Iran. Mites of the family Trombellidae are ectoparasite of insects during their larval stage.This family includes 10 genera among which the genus Nothrotrombidium contains two species reportedfrom Europe, South America, Indochina and the U.S.A. This genus is easily distinguished from other generaof the family by having elongate chelicerae.
