چکیده مقاله:

The predation activity of larvae and adult of Hippodamia variegata Goese as a predator of crop plants andornamental plants aphids has been reported from the most regions of Iran. In order to determine the biologyof this lady beetle on aphids Macrosiphum rosae & Myzus persicae in laboratory conditions, eggs of thisinsect were collected from ornamental plant Hibiscus rosa chinensis infected with aphids M. persicae indifferent regions of Lahijan city and a laboratory colony were estabilished by using of collected eggs, forlater studies such as determine different stages of growth and development, different developmentaltemperature threshold, fertility, feeding, food preference under laboratory condition by feeding on aphidsMyzus persicae and Macrosiphum rosae. The results of different experiments indicated that the meandevelopment period of this lady beetle from egg to adult under costant temperature of 25±1, 30±1, 35±1 and40±1 C° by feeding on M. persicae took 18 ± 0.04, 13.1 ± 0.05, 10.15 ± 0.04, 7.7 ± 0.04 and by feeding onM. rosae 19.2 ± 0.05, 13.95 ±0 .04, 10.87 ± 0.05, 8.15 ±0.04 days. The thermal constant from egg to adultwith feeding on M. persicae and M. rosae was 203.522± 1.87 C° and 222.12± 1.94 C°. Average dailyfeeding was indicated by larval instars (1-4) and female adult.with feeding M. persicae 29.95 ± 0.13, 61.57 ±0.2, 95.2 ± 0.25, 128.62 ± 0.24, 94.81 ±0.5 and M. rosae 20.27 ± 0.16, 50.27 ± 0.26, 82.5 ± 0.34,100.375 ±0.33, 87.29 ±0.4 number. The average daily egg in temperature 35 C° were higher than temperature 25, 30and 40 C° with feeding M. persicae and M. rosaeat. Finally the food preference experiments indicated thatthe lady beetle prefered M. persicae to M. rosae
