چکیده مقاله:

In the literature there has been considerable effort devoted toLFC of interconnected electric power system. However most results pertain to the problem of designing a centralized controller. As it is well Known implementation of a centralized controller possesses certain difficulties when the number of interconnected areas increases.Specificallythese difficulties can be traced to the need for elaborate instrumentation and telemetery of the required data to the central controller. Also the computational requirements grow very fast with the number of interconnected areas. In recent years significant efforts have been made to establish suitable decentralized controllers for large-scale power systems. This concept is concerned about imposing on the various controllers of the system an information flow constraint, inwhich various controllers of the system are only allowed to measure certain states of the system andcontrol certain inputs of the system. The purpose of this work is to present a new method of designing decentralized LFC for multi-area power systems,Where the system is decomposed into several power areas which are controlled by individual. local controllers. The decentralized con trol policy for the subsystems is introduced by an eigenvalue assignment technique. The newly designed controllers are applied to a two-area power system.Simulation resultsare compared with a linear quadratic optimal control design.
