Review of a Proposed Small HVDC Power Tapping Station

In this paper, a brief review of a proposed small station for power tapping from HVDC transmission systems is presented. The operation of the tapping scheme, as well as different control alternatives for each part of the scheme will be discussed. The performance of the tapping scheme under normal working conditions and in conjunction with an air-core transformer will be simulated by the PSCAD/EMTDC software package.
