Sensitivity Analysis of Parallel Resonance Circuit Fault Current Limiter

Recently " Fault Current Limiters" have been used as effective tools to limit the magnitude of short circuit current in networks. Thus identification and finding the worst possible conditions that can occur during fault current limiting and also selecting the rated values ( correct sizes ) of fault current limiter components, taking into account the above conditions are of great importance. Different important topics have been analyzed and discussed in this paper. These topics include: The analysis of the effect of each component of fault current limiter (FCL) and system components upon the efficiency of current limitation and up on recovery voltage of the bus connected to the FCL taking into account the over voltage magnitude and harmonics. Their effects upon circulating current that passes through thyristors and also upon the capacitor voltage have also been analyzed.
