Introducing Phase Shifting Transform er(P.S.T.) and Some Applications of This Equipment in Iran Electric Network

In this paper, at first the structure of phase shifting transformer is introduced. In this special type of power transformer, turn ratio is a complex number, so in addition of changing the absolute value of voltage, the angle also changes and this variation is continuously available in operational range of P.S.T. . The possibility of use, effects and benefits of this special type of power transformer in network is explained in order to increase performance of existing network and to avoid constructing new establishments . Finally, two items for utilization of P.S.T. in Iran existing network is described and compared with current solutions such as construction and strengthen of transmission network and /or modification of line parameters.
