چکیده مقاله:

Electric power plants are high industrial water consumers. Wastewater generated by this type of industries has its special characteristics and should undergo specific processes. Water and wastewater reclamation is a major issue in this type of industries, since electric power generation is one of the industries that has the highest potential for wastewater reuse. Innovations in wastewater treatment methods should start by a management program coordinating water demand and reuse planning as well as the appropriate application of advanced treatment processes. In addition to conventional treatment processes, some innovative treatment methods such as wetland and membrane techniques are discussed. In Iran, further efforts should be done in order to fulfill environmental regulations.
