Balancing National Power Requirements

One of the most significant issues of recent times has been that of energy production and its management in distribution. It does not matter if it is a developed or a developing country, a regulated or deregulated energy market, where the primary resources are abundant or need to be imported, whether it is rich or poor. All have one common requirement: the ability to generate and distribute power and energy to industry and to its people in the most efficient, cost effective and environmentally kind manner. This paper aims to briefly review the Iranian power supply and demand situation and discuss issues on how to plan forward, optimise efficiency and assist a growing economy to achieve its goals.
