چکیده مقاله:
Depressive disorder is a widespread and costly illness, with a 1-year prevalence of about 7% [1].A variety of antidepressant treatments are available, but many patients fail to achieve sustainedsymptomatic remission. Continued depressive symptoms are associated with ongoing functionalimpairment [2], increased usage of health care resources [3], a greater risk of suicide [4 – 6], andoverall increased mortality, especially associated with cardiovascular disease [7] so that it isimportant to study of different trans-diagnostic dimensions of depression such as emotionalschema, rumination and meta-cognitive beliefes about rumination. this study designed toexamine relation between depression and this trans-diagnostic dimensions.Nolen-Hoeksema [8] has attempted to explain etiology of depression disorder by depressiverumination. he defines rumination, or more specifically ruminative responses to depression, as behaviors and thoughts that passively focus one‟s attention on one‟s depressive symptoms andon the implications of these symptoms. rumination is described as a largely cognitive or verbalactivity. Nolen-Hoeksema [8] posits that rumination prolongs and worsens depression [8].Several correlational, experimental, and longitudinal studies have linked rumination to longerand more severe periods of depressed mood [For comprehensive reviews see, 8]. very studieshave examined the relationships between rumination and depression and there were significantrelation between them [9, 10, 11].
