Anthropological study of empowerment of women as heads of household Case study: women as heads of households supported by the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee in the city of Damavand

Empowerment of women as heads of household is a process that enables womento gain independence, control and self confidence and with a sense of personaland collective power, reform and change their social circumstances. The purposeof this study is to evaluate the anthropological study of empowerment programof women as heads of household supported by Damavand Imam Khomeini ReliefCommittee. To achieve this goal we have examined the empowerment program of organization and also factors that have influences on this program. Thepopulations include women as heads of household supported by the organization(RA) who have benefited from empowerment program. Based on the informationobtained from the organization IT center, 830 women heads under support of 74people had used the empowerment program. Random sampling and datacollection through group interview that includes 5 groups and for data analysisand descriptive statics, percentage and finally data analysis are used. The resultshow that the empowerment program of women heads has impacts on theirsocial health. Effects of the actions of Imam Khomeini Relief Committee in orderto empower women heads are summarized generally in the form of subsistenceaffairs, job training service, self-sufficiency, job placement and referral of thedestitute to job centers, consulting before, during and after the implementationof job, giving financial facilities, entrepreneurship loan, cultural and educationalaffairs, social supporting affairs.
