Study of pre hospital emergency (EMS) missions in traffic accidents in two years ago in Kermanshah province

چکیده مقاله:

Objective: Traffic accidents are one of the most important factors in mortality, financial and mental harm, and its serious social, cultural and economic impact has greatly impacted human societies. The aim of this study was to investigate the pre-hospital emergency missions inKermanshah province in traffic accidents. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study. The data were collected fromthe EMS mission data in the Emergency Department of Kermanshah province and analyzed using SPSS 21 software.Results: The mean of monthly EMS missions in accidents was in 2017 (535.2 ± 135.4) and in 2018 (585.6 ± 111.1) that showed increase 9.42 percent. Traffic accidents was 27.18 percent in 2017 and 27.49 percent in 2018 of EMS total missions. In 2018, 15,480 people were injured,84.32% were transferred to hospital, and 15.69% were Dis satisfied to transfer to hospital and treated with outpatient treatment. In 2017, 13,224 people were injured, 86.31% were transferred to hospital, and 13.69 % were dissatisfied to transfer to hospital and treated with outpatienttreatment. The mean frequency of injuries and death per month in 2017(558.96±142.44) and in 2018 (651.71 ± 129.26) increased by 17.06%. The number of death in 2017 was 191 and 2018 (161), which shows a decrease of 15.71%. The number of missions and the number of injuriesdid not have a significant difference with the previous year (P> 0.05) Conclusion: Although mortality from traffic accidents has been decreased than in the previous year, but the number of injured has continued to increase in Kermanshah province. Therefore, accident prevention, driving regulations, public awareness and culture can be effective in reducing these incidents
