Finite-element investigation of vehicle speed effects on jointed concrete pavement

Rigid pavements may suffer different types of damages such as longitudinal and transverse cracks, cracks in the joint resulting from dynamic traffic load and thermal stress during their lifetime. Understanding rigid pavement response under axial load is important in designing new pavement and implementation of measures to repair and modify existing pavement. In this paper, JPCP slab response was studied under the axial loads.
