چکیده مقاله:

Mass media and specially Movies can affect most of people powerfully because the combined impact of images, music, dialogue, lighting, sound and special effects can elicit deep feelings in people’s lives. Movies can be a powerful vehicle for culture, education and leisure so that the ex-prime minister of India, Nehru told in his speech …the influence in India of films is greater than newspapers and books combined ! Movies can shape the social behaviors and it’s what stated in Albert Bandura’s cognitive theory (1962). He states in his theory that observational learning happens when people observe a special behavior and then the behavior will be imitated by them and gradually they will show that behavior as their own behavior. Physical activities as a social behavior which sometimes called as sport activities can be learnt through watching television movies. Turkish movies have lots of fans in Iran and many Iranians follow Turkish weekly or daily movie series in Iran. Though Iran and Turkey are similar culturally, but thecontent of movies in these countries is very different. Physical activities as a part of the most Turkish movies are presented differently in Iranian movies. So this study was conducted to show differences between movies of these two countries in promoting physical activities. The method was content analysis and for this, 12 famous Turkish and Iranian movies in March of 2019 were analyzed and for this purpose more than 1400 Movie sequence were analyzed. The results showed that in Iranian movies only in 5% of sequences (8 sequences) physical activitties was shown while in 95% of Turkish movie sequences (151 sequences), physical activities in different sport activities could be observed. Also findings showed that whole time of physical activities presentation in Iranian movies was 29 sec. while in Turkish movies was 285 sec. The most interesting result was that, in spite of football being very attractive sport in Turkey, but in their movies football was absent while in Iranian movies the most presented sport was Football. If people are going to participate in physical activities, it’s important to pay more attention to make movies with effective sequences full of attractive physical activities
