چکیده مقاله:

Full frontal crash (ECE33), Rear Crash (ECE34), Bumper impact (ECE42) and door intrusion (FMVSS 214) are the main safety targets in the design of Samand which have been reached satisfactorily. However, Samand structure is not strong enough to fulfill the two remained - Offset crash (ECE 94) and Side impact (ECE 95) – European safety regulations. To eliminate this weakness following study has been conducted. These two regulations’ criterions are based on the level of injuries for driver and passenger. But prior to assessing the dummy injuries, the vehicle structure should have stable and reliable performance in the crash event. Therefore, based on our previous experiences, some structural guide lines have been set (on the deformation and velocity of structural locations) for the first phase. Achieving these targets, dummy injuries has been studied in order to clarify whether the restraint system should be modified to fulfill the regulation criterions or not.To find the final solution, offset frontal and side impact finite element models have been updated and several iterative analyses were performed. Geometry modeling has been done by means of CATIA software while PATRAN and Pam-Crash have been utilized for finite element modeling and processing, respectively. The results show that the recommended structural solution is enough for achieving the side impact targets but for fulfilling the offset frontal crash criterions besides of recommended structural solutions the restrain systems should be modified and driver airbag should be implemented in vehicle.
