Investigation of Stability of Alkenes

A general method for determining the relative stability of alkenes using hydrogenation reaction with H2 gas in the presence of a catalyst such as Palladium orPlatinum. Substituent at the double bond of the alkene double bond as well as the geometric position of the alkenes are more stable .The general ruleis that the stability of the following alkenes follows In this paper ,by using Gaussian program and calculateΔH0for each reaction tohydrogenation ,we have gained a stability rate
