چکیده مقاله:

Curricula play a vital role in educational programs. They provide a crucial link between standards and accountability measures. They are shaped by the professionals who teach with them. Typically, they also determine the content of the subjects being taught. Clearly, knowing how effective a particular curriculum is represents a valuable source of information to decision makers. Evaluation studies can provide that information. The present study aims at evaluating the Graduate English Translation Program in Iranian universities. Despite the fact that program evaluation is a necessary step in all fields, it remained untouched in English translation program, and no researches has been done about its pathology. It is hoped that the results of the study will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of the program and be used as a framework for curriculum improvement studies at Iranian universities. By these means, the results of the study may be considered as a clue for administrators in understanding the deficiencies in their programs. This study has been done to first of all, see that How does the curriculum of the English Translation program at master’s level being evaluated from the graduate student’s perspective and then to see that does the ELT program at master’s level has any relation to the current job market in Iran?A minimum threshold of 20 participants that are Current and former students of ELT has been used in the study, and Criterion sampling technique has been used to select the sample participants.According to the information gathered through the interviews and questionnaires, MA translation students are not perfectly satisfied with education in this field. Actually there is no relation to what they have studied in this field and what they face in their working situations. In addition, Teaching translation in Iran was not successful due to several reasons that it will be mention in this paper. Actually this study is going to answer the questions of why the students are dissatisfied with the program and the relation of these dissatisfactions or satisfactions with the curriculum of this major, and in the end the professors idea about the program to find a solution for it
