Abstract The objective of this paper is to examine the mediator’s role of perceived behavioural control in the relationship between past behaviour and intentions toward disturbance behaviour on birds among Malaysian birdwatchers. For this purpose four hypothesises tested. (1) Past behaviour has a significant effect on intentions towards disturbance behaviour on birds among Malaysian birdwatchers. (2) Past behaviour has a significant effect on perceived behavioural control of Malaysian birdwatchers towards disturbance behaviour on birds. (3) Perceived behavioural control has a significant effect on intentions towards disturbance behaviour on birds among Malaysian birdwatchers. (4) Perceived behavioural control mediates the relationship between Past behaviour and intentions towards disturbance behaviour on birds among Malaysian birdwatchers. The respondents were Malaysian birdwatchers through a survey (n=421). The results showed there was a partial mediator role for perceived behavioural control in the relationship between past behaviour and intentions towards disturbance behaviour among Malaysian birdwatchers.
