چکیده مقاله:
An historical review of water supply innovation is used to demonstrate how the evolution and discovery practices influenced the location and evolution of human settlements. It is known for many centuries, a great deal regarding the issues of water quantity and quality. Most principles of sustainable and viable water governance and services were known more than 2000 years ago; these same principles can be very effective in identifying promising directions for the future practices. The realization of the nexus of drinking water and sanitation is shown to be instrumental in improving the siting of facilities. Further, these same principles are being used to improve the design of water treatment technologies for rural people. For a climate changing world and times of huge population increases, identifying useful strategies for design of low-tech water treatment options is proving to be increasingly important
