چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Anemia causes hypoxia due to a failure to meet tissue oxygen demand. In developing countries, anemia prevalence is 3 to 4 times higher than that in developed countries. Several treatments are carried out according to anemia type. They can act of contribution out iron, vitamin B9 or B12 by oral route, treatment with immunosuppressors or corticosteroids, blood transfusion, erythropoietin injection, or osseous marrow transplantation. Methods: After collection of the plant, its extract was obtained using Soxhlet extractor. The collected extract was filtered by Whatman filter paper no 1 and steamed into a glass container at the solvent temperature. The remaining dried extract was poured into a glass container and weighed. The powder of the obtained extract weighed as required depending on the doses and dissolved in distilled water. In vivo design, after one day of the last injection of Phenylhydrazine, the rats were divided into six sub groups. Results: All doses of aqueous extract of L. tridentate (especially at dose of 160 mg/kg) significantly (p≤0.05) increased the levels of body weight, RBC, Hb, PCV, MCV, MCH, MCHC, WBC, neutrophils, platelet, and decreased the raised levels of urea, creatinine, ALP, AST, ALT, GGT, ferrous, ferritin, and erythropoietin as compared to the untreated group. Conclusion: The results showed the useful anti-anemic property of aqueous extract of L. tridentate.
