چکیده مقاله:

In the present work, friction stir processing (FSP) was used to incorporate SiC nanopowder on the surface of 7075 aluminum alloy. The effect of different rotational (800, 1250, 1600 rpm) and traverse speeds (25, 50, 80,100 mm/min) on the mechanical properties of produced nanocomposite was investigated. In terms of rotational and traverse speeds, performing the FSP under the optimum conditions (rotation and traverse speeds of 1250 rpm and 100 mm/miny, respectively) resulted in an increase of about 90% intensile strength of produced nanocomposite. Besides, comparing to base material, a three-fold increase (reaching to 170 Hv from 60 Hv) in the microhardness of manocomposite layer was observed.
