Titanium dioxide has been extensively used for solar energy conversion and photo-catalysis applications due to its high photo-catalytic activity, stability and defined band gap. In this paper, a foam-like nanosized titanium oxide thin film was prepared by sol-gel technique for photocatalytic applications. The structure and morphology of the thin film was characterized by X-ray diffraction OXRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). Also the optical properties of the sample were examined by UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The X-ray diffraction data revealed that the nanoparticles possess mostly a poly-nanocrystal structure of anatase. Furthermore; the SEM results show that the layer has a homogenous foam-like nanostructure surface with the grain sizes 15-20 nanometers. The foam like nanostructure of TiO, showed approximately 80% efficiency in Methylen Blue (MB) degradation in UV light irradiated for 60 minutes.
