چکیده مقاله:

Rice husk ash and fly ash can be used as cement supplement in order to improve the durability, tensile and compressive strength of the self-compacting concrete. Self-compacting concrete is a high performance concrete that flows under its own weight without requiring the mechanical vibration. The utilisation of this waste in concrete will help in sustainable and greener development. Published literature shows huge potential of RHA dust as a replacement of natural fine aggregate and cement. The depletion of reserves of sand and stricter mining laws have made the need for substitution of natural sand in concrete an absolute necessity. A comprehensive overview of the published literature on the use ofgranite dust in concrete is being presented. SCC is a high performance concrete that flows under its own weight without requiring the mechanical vibration. This paper presents the characteristics of selfcompacting concrete containing rice husk ash as cement and fine-grained aggregate. The characteristics of self-compacting concrete like compressive and tensile strength, durability and workability are investigated. To evaluate the mechanical properties of the concrete, the compression strength, tensile strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity is reported. Also Slump flow and porosity chloride ion penetration testing was respectively investigated for the properties of fresh concrete and durability. The resultsshowed that the slump value was between 550-800 mm by increasing the amount of rice husk ash. The increase of compressive and tensile strength of self-compacting concrete was observed with RHA content up to RHA 15% as a cement replacement and then decreased slightly. A decrease of 57% compressive strength of self-compacting concrete was observed by increasing the fine-grain rice husk ash up to 20percent replacement. The durability of self-compacting concrete samples has good resistance to chloride ions penetration. Also this paper reviews the influence of other materials such as limestone powder or fly ash as fine-grained ash and cement with rice husk ash in self-compacting concrete
