چکیده مقاله:

افزایش نگرانی‌های زیست محیطی و در کنار آن مسایل مرتبط با امنیت انرژی لزوم استفاده از منابع انرژی جدید را در دهه‌های‌ اخیر دو چندان کرده است. ایران بطور بالقوه دارای منابع عظیم انرژی خورشیدی با متوسط تابش بیش از 2800 ساعت در سال می‌باشد. 11 پروژه در زمینه انرژی خورشیدی توسط وزارت نیرو در حال انجام و یا به بهره برداری رسیده است. کل برق خورشیدی تولید شده در سال 2004 از 14020 کیلووات به 67000 کیلووات در پایان سال 2010 رسیده است. از بین نواحی مختلف ایران، شیراز مطابق با مطالعات امکانسنجی پتانسیل مناسبی برای بهره برداری انرژی خورشیدی در سطح وسیع دارد. نزدیک به 80 درصد نیروگاه خورشیدی شیراز برای اولین بار در ایران و همچنین در خاورمیانه توسط متخصصین ایرانی طراحی و ساخته شده است. در این مقاله به بررسی پتانسیل و منابع انرژی خورشیدی در ایران و بخصوص در مناطق با ظرفیت بالا به عنوان گزینه‌ای مطمئن برای توسعه پایدار آینده ایران، پرداخته شده است.
