Introduction: The prevalence of diabetes in the world has been reported to be about 3.6 million people worldwide. Diabetes has many side effects, among which diabetic foot ulcer is the most common cause of death, so it is estimated that every 30 seconds a lower limb amputation is due to diabetes. Diabetic foot ulcers have many degrees that are generally difficult to treat over time. This article reviews the types of treatments available for diabetic foot ulcers so far and new treatments that are hopefully more effective for treatment and need further study.Methods: This review study was conducted through a search on the PubMed database from 2015-2019.Results: Current treatments to date include a variety of dressings, types of method for offloading pressure on the foot, chemical drugs, debridement, and treatments that require further investigation include leech therapy, carboxytherapy, ozone therapy, hypertensive oxygen use, use Weak laser, maggot therapy, treatment of negative pressure ulcer, use of platelet-rich plasma, cold atmosphere plasma. New dressings are also discussed.Conclusion: The literature has shown that new methods are more successful than conventional methods for diabetic foot ulcer. However, to avoid complications of diabetic foot ulcer, use of any available methods is recommended. However, more recent studies need to be done on the new method.
