Effects of using Zeolite as a Soilless Culture media substrate on Yield and fruit Quality of Bell pepper

This investigation was conducted to study the effect of using zeolite in combination with some inert substrates as soilless media on fruit yield and quality of greenhouse bell pepper. A randomized complete block design with 4 replications was conducted. Treatments were consisted of rice hull 100%, perlite 100%, saw dust 100%, rice hull 75% + zeolite 25%, perlite 75% + zeolite 25% and saw dust 75% + zeolite 25%,. The results showed that using zeolite as complementary substrate in inert media could improve both cation exchange and water holding capacities of the media and as a result increased the fruit quality and yield of bell pepper.
