خلاصه مقاله:
One of the important problems in power systems is power quality. In power systems, the presence of nonlinear loads is effective on power quality. This paper studies problems resulting from installation of nonlinear loads on the power systems and in which in order to power quality improvement has been used a static compensator (STATCOM) connected to battery energy storage system (BESS). In this paper, a new control scheme is proposed for static compensator and in thecontrol scheme is used the modified particles swarm optimization (MPSO) method. The staticcompensator and its control scheme in order to power quality improvement, the desired grid and nonlinear load system is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK in power system block set
