خلاصه مقاله:
Bronte in her novel, Jane Eyre, depicts a feminist heroin who struggles for her liberty and self-actualization, whilethe reader witnesses her growth and maturation as a woman. However, the roots of her feministic behavior can be seen in the feelings of inferiority imposed on her by the family in the hands of whom she was nourished. Being despised and detested while facing the vicissitudes of being an orphan, poor and homeless, seeds in her the feeling of inferiority.Adler’s theory of Individual Psychology proposes all individuals to have been born with this feeling of inferiority, the exaggerated degree of which results in inferiority complex. The suffering individual shows excessive obsession with the desire for superiority while self-centeredness becomes the basis for his lifestyle. Jane’s constant exposure to her inferior self-image results in her efforts for achieving superiority and independence and escaping from any threat of being dominated by others.
