Resolution of a multibit delta-sigma modulator (DSM) is limited by its internal digital-to-analogc onverter( DAC) nonlinearity that is usually caused by circuit mismatch errors rvhiler ealizing.R ecentlys, omed ynamice lementm atching( DEM) methods were proposed for reducing mismatch errors. Trvo main difficulties of dilTerent dynamic element matching (DENI) techniquesre latet o instabilitya nd complexityo f their algorithms. This paper provides a general method to simplify and to improve stabilify of high order dynamic element matching algorithms. It is shown that the proposed modilications can reduce nccessary hardrvare for any order of sorting DENI algorithms and improve stability of the high order tree- tructured DEIVI, without scarifyinga considerablpea rt of their ideal mismatchshaping function. Simulations are presented for different 6th antl 4"-order bandpassm ismatch-shapingc ircuit, movetl inside the feedback loop of a 6''-order bandpass delta-sigma modulator. Horveveri,t can also be used in lowpass DSM.
