خلاصه مقاله:
This paper deals with the determination of radioactive heat production (A) from granites of the south bohemian massif, which are responsible for radioactive heat production in this area. It has been investigated about 45 different granites distributed in Austria and Slovakia. In general for the first time, the radioactive heat production (A) of granites from austrian territory was determinated. At first, their densities have been measured. Average density value with standard deviation of granites is: ρ = 2.63 ± 0.02 (g cm3) The granites have ground and poured in radon-impermeable containers for determination of their radioactive rays [uranium 238 (U-238), thorium 232 (Th-232) and potassium 40 (K-40)] with using Gamma-spectrometry. Average values with standard deviations of radioactive elements from investigated granites are for: *U-238: 18.33 ± 6.96 PPM *Th-232: 12.05 ± 5.05 PPM *K-40: 5.14 ± 2.61 % After determination of density and radioactive rays, radioactive heat production (A) is calculated by using the equations from 1. BIRCH (1954) and 2. BUNTEBARTH (1980) for these granite samples.Average values of radioactive heat production (A) with standard deviations in two calculated units from investigated granites are for: 1. A[ 10−13ca l cm3.sec=1HGU ]= 14.38 ± 4.7 or 2. A [μW m3 ] = 5.91 ± 1.94 The obtained values of densities, radioactive elements and radioactive heat production (A) have been compared with those of older studies in the bohemian massif. As result can be seen a direct relation between radioactive heat production and density.
