خلاصه مقاله:
This paper focuses on modeling and control of bulk polymerization of styrene in an autorefrigerated reactor where the generated heat is removed by heat of vaporization of the monomer. Due to the exothermic and nonlinear nature of polymerization reactions, and reactor type as well, temperaturecontrol is a challenging problem. For this purpose, conventional PI controller and the adaptive generalized predictive control (AGPC), as an advanced control algorithm, have been used to control the reactor temperature. Process model has been identified via least squares method and the model parameters are updated at each sample time. Finally, the performances of the above-mentioned controllers are compared through computer simulation in set point tracking and load rejection. Their robustness to model mismatch is also tested.
