Heat transfer from a heated wire to liquid in a vessel with and without ultrasound transducer is experimentally and numerically investigated. Liquid imposed a periodic change in pressure at the bottom of the vessel where the piezoelectric transducer is installed. The experimental results showan enhancement in Nusselt number as ultrasound transducer is employed. The modeling results show that heat transfer to the liquid is improved in the presence of active ultrasonic transducer. In the modeling, the time step is set to quarter period of ultrasound pressure. The results show thatthe predicted results are in good agreement with the experiments.
