خلاصه مقاله:
This paper investigates the design of a shell-and-tube fixed bed reactor for direct dimethyl ether (DME) production from syngas in industrial scale. For this purpose, the applied design principles in similar industrial reactors are considered, and also, a one-dimensional steady-state homogeneous model is used to simulate the reactor. The simulation results show that the designed reactor can produce the same amount of DME (2416.1 kmol/hr) as the industrial reactor one whichoperates based on indirect process, and at the same time the proposed reactor is more economical owing to its smaller initial investment and higher reaction conversions.
