One of the suitable methods for removing heavy metals from water is using surface adsorption process. In this study, the preparation of pyrrole nanoconposite as adsorbents are discussed and the capability of separating phosphate anion from water are studied. FeCl3 was used as chemical oxidant for oxidation of pyrrole. The products were characterized in terms of morphology and chemical structure by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), respectively. The results indicated that the Polypyrrole nanocomposite have high effect in removing phosphate anion from aqueous media in comparison with anthracite and activated carbon as adsorbents
