Poly(acrylic acid) microgels were prepared by using multiacrylates crosslinkers by precipitation polymerization. In all systems a constant concentration of a multifunction crosslinker such as 1,6hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA), trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) and di(trimethylolpropane) tetraacrylate (DTMPTA) was employed. Provided stability was shown by the strain sweeps tests performed using DTMPTA as multi fanctional crosslinker. Analysis of theG′ and G″ vs frequency curves gave information about the viscoelastic properties of samples. Thestrength of polymer network is increased by increasing the functionality of cross-linkers. The rotational viscosity results supported the pseudoplastic behavior of samples synthesized. Theelasticity theory was used to discuss the network structure of polymer and calculeted the number of crosslinker sites per unit volume (ν).
