The purpose of this research is to identify the role of effective teaching using face to face interaction along with online learning techniques to improve student engagement in through the NSSE scale to develop relationships between effective teaching criteria with cognitive and skills as student engagement dimensions. The researcher applied thisresearch on a public university in Egypt that apply blended learning in one of its programs. The researcher concluded from the results that students still consider the face to face interaction represented in its ability to motivate students and use time oriented tasks as important factors to enhance student engagement as acting in collaborative manner and improving their technology competencies
