خلاصه مقاله:
The rapid development of space technology over the last 3 decades has allowed us to use the microwave remote sensing technique, Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR), as an efficient and powerful geodetic method for measuring surface motion over wide areas (thousands of kilometres). Our capabilities for investigating changes related to anthropogenic and natural processes have been further enhanced in the last decade thanks to greater data availability from different radar satellites and significant improvements in Multi Temporal Interferometry (MTI) techniques. These techniques can provide very accurate (sub-centimetre to sub-millimetre) and spatially dense (up to thousands of measurement points/km2) information on ground surface deformation. In this work, we give a short overview of the recent advances in SAR Interferometry for depicting time-dependent deformation associated with various geophysical processes, and outline future perspective for nationwide monitoring of geohazards andengineering projects in Iranin view of data provided by new generation SAR imagery
