The discovery of fullerenes in 1985 and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in 1991 opened up a new era in material science. Owning to their unique physical properties, such ashigh strength and stiffness, together with excellent thermal and electric conductivities, as well as low mass, CNTs have become a key candidate, among others, for future electronic materials and advanced nanocomposites [1].
