The polyhydrazides (PHs) are high performance materials. The polymers can be spun to fibers of exceptionally high moduli of elasticity, to what are known as high modulus fibersand these are used to reinforce plastics and as a tire cord [1,2]. Recently, we reported the synthesis and characterization ofsome new PHs which showed good solubility and thermal stability [3]. In this study, we now wish to report the synthesis and characterization of some new poly(amide-hydrazide)s from the reaction of diacid monomers (containing amid functional group) with dihydrazides (Scheme 1).
