خلاصه مقاله:
The mechanical properties of composites are strongly dependent on the reinforcement and interfacial compatibility of the composite system [1]. Bioceramics such ashydroxyapatite (HAP) are preferred reinforcements because of their stiffness, density, bioactivity, and biocompatibility [2].Mechanical properties and bioactivity were improved by theaddition of HAP to the polymer matrix. Strong interfacial adhesion between the inorganic fillers and the organicpolymer matrix is a key factor to make the composites have good compatibility [3]. Radiation processing is one of thecertain modern technologies which can be utilized for modification and also sterilization of implants based on sensitive polymers and composites. Irradiation of LDPE/HAPcomposite causes some physicochemical changes occur mainly in LDPE, while HAP remains stable. In this paper,effects of electron beam irradiation on properties of the LDPE/HAP composite containing different w% of HAP were investigated and compared.
